Full book review: https://novelstorian。wordpress。com/20。。。This was an okay graphic novel— to be honest, the artwork was what really carried the story。 Nothing too memorable plot-wise but it was still worth finishing。 However, if you like Greek Mythology maybe you should check this one out! 2。 5 stars。 Full book review: https://novelstorian。wordpress。com/20。。。This was an okay graphic novel— to be honest, the artwork was what really carried the story。 Nothing too memorable plot-wise but it was still worth finishing。 However, if you like Greek Mythology maybe you should check this one out! 2。 5 stars。 。。。more

Light hearted, generally entertaining read。 Not a whole lot of depth and not much character building。 Wish the ending didn’t set it up for a sequel - the ending left me unsatisfied。

In some respects, this reminds me of a teenage version of Joan Holub's Goddess Girls。 Zeus is the principal and an adult。 Apollo, Artemis, Athena, and Aphrodite are kids。 The end was like huh? Hopefully, in the next volume we find out about who is Jeff。 I feel like Jeff is going to be like Jackson from Monster High, which means he fits in the whole mythology somehow。 Jeff must be short for something, but I do not remember of anything in Rick Riordan's universe that can be shorten to "Jeff。" Unle In some respects, this reminds me of a teenage version of Joan Holub's Goddess Girls。 Zeus is the principal and an adult。 Apollo, Artemis, Athena, and Aphrodite are kids。 The end was like huh? Is he someone from the half-and-half myth based on the very end or is he part of the crew that hunts for the valuable animal by-product that has incredible powers? Hmmm? 。。。more

This is a cute modernized Greek mythology story。 It would be fun for someone that knows a lot about mythology, but is also a good primer for kids that don’t know anything about it。 I’m excited for the sequel。

One ordinary girl! A high school with the descendants of Greek Gods! A set of students start turning into stone! A sort of Valley Girl/Babysitter's Club tie for Greek Myth fans! Cute illustrations! Didn't feel much depth to it, but its a cute intro。 One ordinary girl! A high school with the descendants of Greek Gods! A set of students start turning into stone! Adorable and cute。 A great way to get kids more into mythology and graphic novels。 I think it will be a fun series for hesitant readers or lovers of light hearted books with mythology thrown in。

Read for my children’s literature class。 Super cute, love the illustrations and story line。 Definitely for a younger audience but very approachable for any age。

I love Greek mythology, so this was a blast! I loved the ways it stuck to the traditional stories and also deviated from them in interesting ways。

Very cute story about 13 year old Karen who has to go to Greece to live with her Dad because her mother has the job opportunity of a lifetime。 When she gets to her new school, she finds out that she may be a demigod but quickly realizes she has to use her smarts to solve a mystery of who is turning everyone to stone。 There are no crazy twists and turns here but I liked the characters, the sweetness of Karen and that it was a wholesome story full of positivity for youth to read and enjoy。

My 10yo recently read this and wanted me to read it。 It was fine but definitely geared towards might schoolers。

[4。5] This was a cool story。 A few things I predicted。 The cliffhanger I didn't know that was going to be a part of the story but I am excited for the sequel。 [4。5] This was a cool story。 A few things I predicted。 The cliffhanger I didn't know that was going to be a part of the story but I am excited for the sequel。 。。。more

I am so extremely not the target audience for this that I'm not even going to rate it。 An extremely quick read。 In my opinion (which, again, is the opinion of a grown up classics major, so: grain of salt) it didn't do anything super entertaining or creative, but it didn't butcher anything too badly either。 My biggest disappointment was that (view spoiler)[Jeff was super into into pancakes rather than biscuits (hide spoiler)], so it obviously wasn't too bad。 I am so extremely not the target audience for this that I'm not even going to rate it。 An extremely quick read。 In my opinion (which, again, is the opinion of a grown up classics major, so: grain of salt) it didn't do anything super entertaining or creative, but it didn't butcher anything too badly either。 My biggest disappointment was that (view spoiler)[Jeff was super into into pancakes rather than biscuits (hide spoiler)], so it obviously wasn't too bad。 。。。more

Reviewed a copy on behalf of raincoast books。 even though I initially thought I couldn't review this book because I didn't like the title and don't like encouraging people to use God's name in vain, this was a funny read, a graphic novel with an interesting take on the greek gods。 Thinks。。。 greek gods in highschool! Cute, but the dialogue was really stiff and awkward。 Mystery was obvious to anyone who knows mythology, but if they don't know as much, there was not enough information about the people and the gods they are and the powers they have。 Will read the 2nd because I think it has potential。 Cute, but the dialogue was really stiff and awkward。 Mystery was obvious to anyone who knows mythology, but if they don't know as much, there was not enough information about the people and the gods they are and the powers they have。 Will read the 2nd because I think it has potential。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this。 It was a short read and great for elementary and middle school kids who like mythology。

For the kids that want their books a bit on the silly side but still want a full story, the new graphic novel Oh My Gods! fits the bill。 When I first read this as a review copy I wasn't sure how I felt about it。 Then my 10 year old read the printed version and loved it。 That's a darn good recommendation to me。 The concept is that Karen is your average 13 year old who lives with her single mother and loves video games。 She has to go live with her dad for a year and after a long period of being co For the kids that want their books a bit on the silly side but still want a full story, the new graphic novel Oh My Gods! fits the bill。 When I first read this as a review copy I wasn't sure how I felt about it。 Then my 10 year old read the printed version and loved it。 That's a darn good recommendation to me。 The concept is that Karen is your average 13 year old who lives with her single mother and loves video games。 She has to go live with her dad for a year and after a long period of being completely clueless, she discovers that her father is Zeus。 When students at her school get turned to stone, Karen and her new mythological friends try to figure it out。 The whole story is a rather tongue in cheek way of looking at mythology, but new takes on these classic stories are needed and the intended audience of 8-12 year olds will thoroughly enjoy this。 。。。more

This is a great gateway book to get reluctant readers into Greek mythology。 Someone whose read every book that RR write is not going to be impressed by this one, but that’s ok。 It was fun colorful romp in basic mythology and I really enjoyed it!

This was a fun revision of the Greek gods, but I found that it jumped around more than I would have liked and the characters weren't that well developed。 The artwork was nice。 There is a lot of great potential for future books。 But I was kind of left with the feeling of so what at the end of the book。 The Medusa tie in was fun, but I noticed that at at least one point in the artwork, there is a visual that doesn't match up with the reason why they are isolated。 And the story did kind of wrap up This was a fun revision of the Greek gods, but I found that it jumped around more than I would have liked and the characters weren't that well developed。 The artwork was nice。 There is a lot of great potential for future books。 But I was kind of left with the feeling of so what at the end of the book。 The Medusa tie in was fun, but I noticed that at at least one point in the artwork, there is a visual that doesn't match up with the reason why they are isolated。 And the story did kind of wrap up in a few panels when we had so much build up。 For me, I felt that this book deserved to be divided into kind of the arrival in Mt。 Olympus and then the Medusa story。 Putting the two together just didn't do justice to either。 I get why it happened this way, but there was certainly enough in Karen trying to understand this new place around her - and she was weirdly oblivious I might add - to keep a full 200 pages of graphic novel going。 The book could have ended with the cliffhanger around Medusa 。。。。 。。。more

Fun characters and storyline; looking forward to the 2nd book。 I will say that I feel like some of the characters were written to be stiff and awkward because of the concept and setting, but I could see how others might not like it。

Just OK。 The idea has kind of been done before, so really nothing new to see。 Still, a cute story and a good read-alike option for fans of Percy Jackson and Lumberjanes (although, tbh, Lumberjanes is better)。

This is a cute graphic novel about a girl growing up on Mt。 Olympus。 It plays with Greek mythology and stuff。 Good characters and an easy plot。 It has a strong message of friendship。 I want to see where this series goes。 It reminds me a bit of Lumberjanes。
